When You Know It's Time

I woke up in the night around this time a few years ago with a burning desire to change where I was in life. Within the same breath, fear would grip me. Where do I start? How will I get the startup funds? Who is going to actually buy my product? What if it doesn't work? I then thought about what would happen if I didn't move. Is complacency the more comfortable place than the growing pains of going into uncharted territory? At that very moment, something changed in me. I knew what I had to do. I had the option to continue my 9-5 job where my value did not match what I took home, and attempt to build a cushion for me and my family. That option would ultimately take away the focus for business ownership and I would slide back into complacency. My other option was to jump, and learn how to make wings on the way down. It was one of the scariest days of my life. I began to burn the ships, the options to go back were destroyed.

I gave myself only one option.

Success.

I wouldn't suggest this for everyone. You may need to have a cushion and ease your way into entrepreneurship. That takes more discipline that route to not go back and keep yourself accountable. For myself, I didn't have that. I needed something drastic to motivate (and force) myself to move forward.

Find your path that works best for you and don't stop until you reach your goals, no matter how small.

Be Great
